When he was a youth in the Queensborough projects, Jonathan White (Channing Tatum) -- then known as Milk -- killed a couple of junkies. His dead father's former partner, Detective Stanford (Al Pacino), got him off the hook for the crime. Now a rookie police officer himself, Jonathan remains haunted by the incident. When a Queens reporter (Juliette Binoche) receives anonymous tips regarding the long-ago crime, the implications for both White and Stanford are clear.

Critics Consensus

Needless stylistic flourishes and wholly illogical storytelling make The Son of No One a grisly, repugnant journey.

Horror fan 4 A good idea but poorly executed. With this cast this should've been a great movie. Tim Treakle Rated 3/5 Stars • Rated 3 out of 5 stars 09/07/24 Full Review Jo G Great concept for a movie, but the person who was 'supposedly' threatening to expose the police for a cover up Did Not fit the profile of the person pulling the punches.Women: man's voice in all interactions. Driving a car into the back of 'accused' car. Murdering the journalist / taking pictures of accused & journalist before murder. Also " having knowledge " of an original cover up. Too many loose ends and improbibilities. Rated 2/5 Stars • Rated 2 out of 5 stars 08/12/24 Full Review Pristine Persians A I don't get the low ratings at all. Ray and Al alone just being in a movie together is a 3.5 even if does suck otherwise. It's a solid 4. Rated 4/5 Stars • Rated 4 out of 5 stars 12/27/23 Full Review jwcdood In general, critics and audience alike hated SON OF NO ONE, but I found it engaging, in spite of the fact. The screenplay itself was a little "off" and I felt it moved a little slow, but, essentially, it's not all as bad as the critics and audience rated it. Eh, c'est la vie... Rated 3/5 Stars • Rated 3 out of 5 stars 12/07/23 Full Review Jelisije J I can't believe how bad this film was. This film proved that no matter what the Star Power a film has the writing is what matters at the end of the day. SKIP SKIP SKIP. Rated 0.5/5 Stars • Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 08/06/23 Full Review Audience Member Out of all the resident evil movies I've ever watched this Has to be the absolute worst one. I am a huge resident evil fan and I follow the series and saga and expected a little bit more consistency with the storyline and at least the character looks. You could've easily gotten Keanu Reeves and dyed his hair blonde to make him Leon S Kennedy and that would've made a banger in itself, plus he was acting like a pu**y, the Leon I know is a bad ass and don't even try. Please at least make an attempt to show your audience that the series is not dying and there's a lot of life left in the resident evil movies. There's a great storyline there is great information to go off based on the games alone and you can easily make a five star movie with no effort instead you choose to use inexperienced actors and people who aren't even really sure of the role they are playing. You had so much opportunity to make this a number one any failed… Please do better, and keep this thing alive. Rated 0.5/5 Stars • Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/27/23 Full Review Read all reviews
