From Point Loma Nazarene University
As a Christian liberal arts university, PLNU is committed to shaping students’ academic, personal, and spiritual growth. Our mission isn’t simply to prepare you for a career after you graduate — though that’s part of it — but to shape you into a thoughtful, service-minded, and engaged member of your community and world.
We believe this happens when students critically explore various fields of thought across the sciences, social sciences, and humanities — such as our Foundational Explorations general education curriculum — with a concern for serving others and an openness to God’s grace at work in our communities, nations, and lives.
Our faculty members are known for their excellence as teachers and scholars in their respective fields, as well as for their commitment to forming relationships with students built around mentorship and accountability to help students thrive academically, professionally, and spiritually.

I love Point Loma Nazarene University! This school is the perfect size for people like me who want to feel settled and known and loved in their community. I love that I am able to be familiar with almost everyone who attents my school, and certainly with everyone in my year. Point Loma is beautiful, I adore the faith-based aspects of it, like chapel and spiritual renewal week:) I love this school and could not speak higher of it.

Point Loma is a beautiful campus and filled with a fun community. Chapel is great but there are a lot of chapel consequences for not going. Very expensive school to be charged more money for not going to chapel. The Pre-health program is phenomenal and filled with great courses. However, the Chemistry department is in need of more and new professors. Campus cafeteria has amazing workers and a clean environment. The cafeteria does have days where the food is not good; I did get food poisoning.

I love so much about Loma it's hard to put into words. They are so welcoming and there are so many opportunities for freshmen to get involved or have some fun. I have learned so much about myself and developed my relationship with God here. They really want to promote self-growth as well as academics. I have met so many amazing people here and I hope I can show that light to others. This school has it's flaws like everyone else, mainly the expense. However it you have the means to go here, then I would 100% recommend.
