Originally adapted from a series of adult visual novel games created by Frontwing, Akio Watanabe, and Fumio, the Grisaia anime series tells the story of a boy named Yūji Kazami and his encounters with five different girls at Mihama Academy. Starting with the series Fruit of Grisaia, each series and film in the anime franchise features elements of romance and psychological drama. In 2022, it was announced that the game Grisaia Phantom Trigger would be receiving another adaptation in the form of a new anime series.
On the surface, the franchise appears to be a typical harem anime about a charming boy surrounded by beautiful girls. However, each girl has baggage that they are reluctant to unpack, even as Yūji tries to help them. Once they do open up to him, their bonds with him determine whether they change for the better or worse. If you're interested in seeing what their stories are all about, check out this watch order.
